Fire up regedit and goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express Look for a DWORD Value named 'Hide Messenger', if you do not have it then create by: Goto Edit-> New-> DWORD Value Name this 'Hide Messenger', Make sure you have a space between the 2 words and don't include the quotes. Double click on Hide Messenger and change the 0 to a 2. Now start Outlook, if all went well messenger should not have started, but you can still run it manually. Bruce. |

| 44174 | 2002-04-16 14:31:00 | I think there's a simplier solution. In outlook XP, click Tools -> Options -> Others then at the bottom is the 'Enable Instant Messaging.....' checkbox. Uncheck it, then Instant Messenget won't load with Outlook anymore. |
