44056 2002-04-16 04:22:00 I accidently removed a switch inside my boot.ini that took away the Win2k splash screen.

I can't remember what the switch was called but I want it back.

And what is there a place I can go to find information on the boot.ini and all the switches. I have no idea what /fastdetect is.

Thanks in advance.

44057 2002-04-16 04:35:00 Have a look here:

www.sysinternals.com

When are Micro$oft going to add these switches:

/rsll, Run Stable Like Linux
/pdsmc, Please Don't Screw My Computer
/wliwiw, Work Like I Wished It Would

44058 2002-04-16 07:10:00 I'd much rather mine ran stable like Windows NT/2K/XP. No linux zelot will admit it, but linux in a desktop configuration isn't overly stable at all.

'narf! my linux desktop is stable as blah blah wank.'

Don't Believe the Hype.
