44029 2002-04-16 02:12:00 When installing a program to a computer with multiple partitions, Windows, by default, offers to install the program to C:\Program Files\etc\etc... I would like someone to tell me how to configure Windows to offer a drive letter of my choice. e.g., D:\Program Files\etc\etc...

I am well aware that it is a simple matter to change one drive letter for another at the time of installing a program. The problem is, when I partition a disk for a family member or a friend, move the My Documents folder and the Outlook Express folder store to the data partition and leave them with specific instructions how to install programs to the Programs Partition, invariably the programs still end up being installed to the C drive.

Secondly, is there a way to store Address Book in the data partition? Up until now, I have been backing up my addresses by periodically exporting them to a folder in My Documents as CSV files.

44030 2002-04-16 10:35:00 easy, install tweak ui (for win98/me, don't worry it works fine).

Click on the 'my computer' tab
I think you can work out the rest...

as for the email, open outlook, go to tools, click on maintenance click on store folder, bingo!

if you want to change the location of your address book, I think you have to change the registry (I havn't found any other way to do it yet), go to run and type 'regedit' (without quotations) and find the following key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4\Wab File Name] and edit it to the location of your address book (you can also export the key so if you do a fresh install you don't have to edit the reg again).
