44258 2002-04-17 05:32:00 Have used fdisk to creat A bootable C: partition of 3488 mb on a 10GB HDD.
Ext dos 6142 MB
Window 98 bot no problem .
Have then used Fdisk to try to creat partitions in the 6142 MB but fdisk will not partition any further than as listed by fdisk so I have 6142 mb space unused.
How can I creat drive partitions on this Ext dos partition, Have been all round the possible combenations but still back were I stated from

44259 2002-04-17 05:57:00 You can create 4 normal partitions on a disk. You can get more by creating 'extended' partitions, which you can then create 'logical' partitions inside them.

I sus[pect that you are booting the C drive, and then trying to run FDISK. That won't work. You can't partition the physical disk you booted from. Make a DOS disk, which contains FDISK and FORMAT and SCANDISK and boot from that.

44261 2002-04-17 10:10:00 Fdisk Unable to create logical drive in Extended dos patition,
C: is patitioned but unable to change 6142 in Exe Dos
All available space in the Extended Dos Partition is assigned to logical Drives.
No drive partition Letters to format.
Seems unable to proceed unless one deletes Primary C: that has Win98 installed and working. Any other solutions
