44205 2002-04-16 22:53:00 Help needed.

My HP6L is not printing at full density on text. This makes sloping parts of letters and number faint and commas look like full stops. The test page looks ok but if I print text files from the net they are almost too faint to read.

Cartridge is new, economode is off (switching on makes it even worse) paper is new and dry. I have posted this before but didn't get any viable answers and am reposting in case an HP guru happens to look in!

I have searched HPs site without success & Google just brings up my previous posts.
I don't want to buy a new printer if this one can be fixed as it is not very old and is only on its fourth toner cartridge.

Is there a phone number for HP help or does anybody know an HP printer servicing company in Auckland that I can call?

Thanx Alex

44206 2002-04-16 23:47:00 Are you by chance using WinXP? Guest (0)
44207 2002-04-17 01:21:00 No, I am using Win 98 and the HP6L PCL installation mode. It was perfectly alright in the past. Is it possible that it is a cartridge fault, or is there anything I can clean that might help?

thanx Alex
