| 44409 | 2002-04-18 04:28:00 | I have a sheet with a list of tasks in one column and a 'date task due' in another column. I want to filter out that date list such that it formats any dates before the present date in a different colour so it indicates overdue tasks. Any ideas appreciated MT |

If you select the range containing the dates, from the menu bar select Format/ConditionalFormatting, select Cell Value Is - Less Than , and in the action box type '=NOW()' (without the 's), then select which method of formatting you want eg different coloured text or different cell colour. If you have blank cells in the range and have selected to format cells by cell colour, you can exclude these cells by using a second format option and select if Cell Value Is Equal To then place '' in the action box and choose the normal background colour as the cell colour.
