44668 2002-04-19 22:34:00 My HP mouse is causing problems by not clicking and jumping across the screen we belive the problem is with the mouse and not the computer as we have virus scanned it.
I have another mouse that goes on the serial port but it is not scrolling and mom can't live without a scrolling mouse is there any way to get them both working at the same time or a program that allows you to select what mouse to use when you boot windows?

Usually dust and debris will just jam up the rollers that are in contact with the ball, but a bit this can cause jerky movement. Itis also possible a bit of fluff has got itself under in the switch contacts that will stop the mouse 'clicking'. Pull the back off and give it a good clean and a bow out (no spitting!) Failing that K mart sell reasonable scroll mice with a PS2 connection for just over $20.00
