44633 2002-04-19 12:03:00 How do i set up my PC so that i can hear the other end of a videoconference, they can hear me but my microphone is not relayed through my speakers, causing feedback. Guest (0)
44634 2002-04-19 20:52:00 In programs like Netmeeting, microphones and speakers just dont work properly together, as in any audio system if you place the microphone near to the speakers you are likely to get acoustic feedback. Use headphones instead of speakers. Guest (0)
44635 2002-04-19 22:23:00 Hello Andy,
Using headphones is probably the best way to overcome feedback, however, try moving your speakers back behind your monitor, and when talking, mute one speaker, by moving the slider left or right, on your volume control.
finally, dont have volumes to high.

cheers,
Bob

44636 2002-04-20 02:06:00 Hi Andy.
The problem is easily solved.
Using a headset as suggested is one way, but if you prefer the speakers, setup the windows mixers to mute your mic on playback.

When you click on the speaker icon in the system tray, the first mixer displayed is the 'Play' control. This controls what is heard from the speakers. Tick the little square to 'mute' your mic.

There is also a 'Record' control. This controls the audio for recording/talking programs. You get to this from the play control, by clicking on options/properties/recording/ok. Tick the little square to 'select' your mic, and adjust the mic level.

Now, others can hear you, you can hear them, but your mic wont feedback.
