I am online and when I decide to add a site to my favourites AND make it available off line, I get the following two messages. Errors occured while windoze was synchronizing your data Error downloading URL Athlon 1000mhz,winME,526 ram Any/all help appreciated |

| 44826 | 2002-04-20 23:06:00 | I've never tried doing it myself as I don't really understand what it means. I mean, you can't update it while you're not online, can you? What I do is save the page to my hard drive for reading later. Isn't this pretty much the same thing? Go to File, Save as and choose where you want it saved. Sometimes I don't want all the graphics, icons, etc saved with the page, just want the text, so in the 'Save as type' drop down box I choose 'Web page, HTML only'. You can also choose Text file if you with, although I haven't tried that. If you already know all this, many apologies, but it might be useful to someone else! |

| 44828 | 2002-04-21 00:33:00 | Well, it goes something like this; first save the page as described by Susan, then Add to Favorites checking the Make Available Offline box. Then when you are off-line you can click on the Favorite, but you also have to go to File and check the work Offline option. The saved page will then open. I think all that the Make Available Offline box does is to make a note of to where you downloaded the page. It all seems a bit of a fiddle, its just easier to save the page somewhere, and then open it by clicking on its html icon. |

| 44829 | 2002-04-21 03:37:00 | Hi Curly, I can highly recommend SurfSaver for saving pages to be viewed offline. Saving pages as already described is fine but if you have many pages you want to archive for reference I find SurfSaver just the ticket. It compresses the pages as well so they don't take up so much room. It's free for the ad-supported version. See: http://www.surfsaver.com Cheers, Rod. |

| 44830 | 2002-04-21 09:33:00 | Yeah - Think I will do as you suggest, seems very simple. Nuh you cannot update while offline, but you can set IE to automatically do it while you are online doing something else. But nevermind - thanks heaps for assistance. |
