| 45014 | 2002-04-22 05:59:00 | Downloaded this to 'unzipped/spider' Went into windows explorer and clicked onto it and found several items including Satellite dish Icon. Everyone seems to say Click on this to install programme. I click onto icon and it opens and I can work it but it doesn`t appear to actually install, I`ve sent the satellite icon to desktop otherwise I have to keep going into Windows expl. I`m running Windows 98SE IE6 Am I too just a bit thick. Thanks for any help, Iris | Guest (0) | ||

Spider doesn't need to be 'installed', it runs straight after double-clicking on the satellite icon (which is the Spider.exe file). I would suggest that you create a Spider folder in your Program Files folder and move all the spider files into that new Spider folder from where you have them now. When you move program files like Spider.exe you need to drag them with your right mouse button and when you 'drop' them choose 'Move', otherwise you will just create shortcuts. If you want to put a shortcut in your Start menu you just need to left-drag the Spider satellite icon onto the Start button. Have a look at the post a little further down the page by Sam (attn Susan B: The Spider don't bite) for a bit more information that might interest you. |
