| 45024 | 2002-04-22 05:45:00 | Hi all :) I have a really old 486 (PC Direct, 8mb ram) computer, that i finally got Windows for workgroups 3.11 running on (thanks to J C), but there are a few probs: (just a few!) the network card doesn't work (the only reason i got windows running was because i didnt install network support), the mouse doesn't work (a standard three-button mouse), the CD-ROM drive doesnt work (file manager lists it as drive e, but when i try to access it, it says there was an error, but there is no spinning of the disk at all) and the sound card doesnt work (creative soundblaster). What I really want to do is to get the CD drive working and install win95, but I lost the coa... is there any way to get it back?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! (and what happend to my old forum; do they just disappear??) I have already jumped over the first hurdle (getting wfw3.11 installed at all) :) |
