45068 2002-04-22 09:43:00 A while ago, I downloaded a programme that allowed me to change the Microsoft title at the top of the Explorer screen. At that time, Al Gore had claimed to have invented the Internet. I thought it realy funny to replace whatever was at the title bit of my explorer window with 'Al's Internet' I no longer think it is funny. How can I remove it?

If you are brave enough to do it manually, here's how.

Goto Start>Run...

Type regedit and press enter.

As always when playing with the registry make sure you back it up first. (Instructions if you need them)

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

Right click on the value on the right called window title, and change it from Al's internet to whatever you like.

Done

45070 2002-04-22 11:58:00 Hi Sally.

I managed to get rid of the words 'Internet Explorer provided by ZFree' from my internet explorer window by changing back to the original default (Microsoft). I did it as follows:

When not connected to the net, click on the Internet Explorer Icon to bring up the dial up window.

Then click on the settings option (as opposed to connect, or work offline.)

Choose the General Tab, then click on default.

Finally click on apply, then on ok.

I am using windows 98.

If desired, I think that you could edit the name instead of choosing default, but I have not tried that.

Hope it works for you.

Cheers.

45071 2002-04-22 12:48:00 Hi again Sally.

If my previous post was not quite what you wanted, here is a copy of an article from the NZPC World June 2001 magazine page 103. It may be of interest to you.

DE-BRAND, RE-BRAND
Tired of having your browser window running an animated logo of an ISP you bailed out of last year? It's easy to return Internet Explorer to its native, non-branded state. All you do is choose Start*Run, and in the open field type the following:

rundll32.exe iedkcs32.dll,Clear

and then press <Enter>.

(Note that the ll32 is two letters ll followed by two numbers 32, it is not the number 1132. Also there is only one space in the typed line and that is between exe and iedkcs32)

Regards.
