| 45253 | 2002-04-23 11:31:00 | I have had 128 meg of ram added to an existing 64 meg for a 192 meg total, but after finding my PC sluggish a check on computer properties lists only 96 meg. Has some ram stopped working while the rest still functions? Would removing and re-installing it help? | Guest (0) | ||

Enable the memory test on startup, and watch what memory is reported by bios. Usually when memory 'disappears', bios has had trouble recognising it. If you find that the memory has returned, you could try speeding up the access again to see where it fails. Normally you should be able to set the memory parameters to set by 'SPD', and it should work OK. If it is still flakey, try removing the memory modules and re-inserting them. |
