| 45199 | 2002-04-23 06:21:00 | (I am a novice, so please forgive my ignorance),I zipped up a Genealogy Program from my desktop & put it on a floppy. Two files came with this program (English setup and the genealogy file) When I try to run this prgram now, It tells me it will not run with out the program.exe. file. Question: Is this file a part of the 'Windows system' or would it be a part of the Program I zipped up. I have tried to restore Genealogy Program and it has not worked. Everything else appears to be running just fine. But not the Genealogy Program. I do not know if I can delete the Genealogy and start a fresh, as I am not sure what the program.exe. file belongs to. Hope someone can help me please. Di. |

What the program.exe most likely refers too at this stage is the exe file that was used to install the program onto your computer. Have you got the program setup file (exe) that was first used to install the program, if so, I would be tempted to uninstall the program and reinstall it fresh. |

I did unistall the genealogy file, but when the program would not run with out the program.exe. file, I left the 'setup file' on the desktop. Unsure if the (program.exe.)was a 'Windows' file, or if it was part of the 'setup file' from the genealogy program. I am definately very green at the file systems, and do not want to delete a Windows file. Any more suggestions, Gordon. Is the (program.exe.) file common to other programs as well as Windows. Di. |
