| 45115 | 2002-04-22 21:03:00 | we have a pc and the G4 on a LAN with ADSL. Access to the internet is no prob. with the PC, however I can't get the G4 to go online. I have configured the G4 settings exactly the same as the PC except of course for the IP address for the G4 itself. ie subnetmask, router/gateway and even DNS addresses. All that happens when I open the browser is 'connecting to 192.168.7.1' which of course is the gateway address. I feel it could be some obscure setting on the G4 regarding the protocol. Also we would like to fileshare between the two but neither sees the other, althougth I can ping the G4 from the PC, any canny ideas? Regards Chris |

I'm not sure how it would interpret things --- strictly your Internet gateway is your ISP but you reach that (or not!) through a gateway on your LAN. If the G4 responds to pings, its network card is working, anyway. |
