45431 2002-04-24 09:56:00 Hi,

That damn database again...

Yes, I've been reading, there are four Access books, and three SQL books on my table (making it hard to see the monitor), but I still have met a sticking point, which I can't find documented anywhere...

I'm using Access 2000.

I've got a query which lists the components in a system on after the other in a row. in deisng view this is a series of columns, with the source info in each one. The last column is the total cost, and it works fine when it's in a query of its own, but when I put it on the end of this one, it screws up...

If I go into design view, show the queries necessary for the cost column, and select the appropriate value in the drop-down box, then go back to Datasheet view, it displays the first system with all its components, and its correct price. In the next two rows it shows the next two systems, but with the price of the first one.

In the fourth row, it shows the first system again, but with the price of the second system, then the second system with its price, and the third, with the price of the second system. The pattern continues...

My datasheet has:

System 1-----Price 1

System 2-----Price 1

System 3-----Price 1

System 1-----Price 2

System 2-----Price 2

System 3-----Price 2

System 1-----Price 3

System 2-----Price 3

System 3-----Price 3

What's wrong?

Thanks,

Erin

45432 2002-04-24 10:47:00 Without the full details, it's a little difficult to help. If you want, send me a sample database with just the problem in it and I'll see if we can sort it out.

45433 2002-04-24 12:41:00 Hi,

Two things wuppo,

1.) I have sent you a copy of the database, it is 668k, as it only contains a few components, to test that the relationships work - which they don't...

and,

2.) You have the coolest Net-Name ever!!

:)
