45360 2002-04-24 04:59:00 Running Nortons and Outlook and many times it faults out. Have to Change Tools, Accounts,Properties,Servers and reset to Xtra as Nortons has taken over under pop3 server. Xtra has told me they dont like Nortons. When I put Nortons back on, mail is ok but faults out again after a few hours. Am getting giddy changing settings, has anyone got an answer please. Have

45361 2002-04-24 06:38:00 When you install Nortons and set it up for email scanning, Nortons canges the pop3 part of the mail account which would not read pop3.norton.antivirus in ther servers tab. On the same tab in the account name that changes to yourloginname/pop3.xtra.co.nz

As for xtra not liking Nortons, anything that causes you to phone up will probably be something they don't like.

Another way would be to turn off mail scanning altogether and use AutoProtect as one line of defense, the second being to Save all attachments and scan manually.

'Nortons changes the pop3 part of the mail account which should read pop3.norton.antivirus in the servers tab'.

45364 2002-04-24 11:40:00 There is nothing wrong with Norton Anti-Virus 2001. It is a good piece of Anti-Virus software and I've used NAV 2001 with Xtra and OE6. They worked fine as expected. However, my OS is Windows 2000 and am now using NAV 2002 with email scanning turned on. I therefore would suspect the problem is with your OS, Win98SE. Win98 gave me lots of problems. Upgrade your OS? Guest (0)
45365 2002-04-24 21:54:00 Nothing wrong with W98. It is norton that causes problems. Couldn't get rid of it quick enough after trying out. Bye Guest (0)
