Sometimes it pays to set you driver back to 'standard VGA' before installing a new driver - otherwise files may be in use that need to be updated (if named the same for each driver). You can see it is easy to get into a mess otherwise. If you can identify the files that make up a driver - remove them manually before trying a new driver (after setting your driver to standard VGA of course). What is the S3 chip number (e.g 362, 365 etc? | Guest (0) | ||
| 45420 | 2002-04-24 11:53:00 | did you try via.com? via bought out s3 and by memory they still host the drivers. there should be a link off via.com. what exact card do you have? as there are a few different s3trio models, they are old and crappy, hope you didn't pay much for it. |

I battled that one for some time having only 16 colors.downloading drivers that didn't work etc. Then one day I had a flash of undumness--removed trio from the system--got Windows to search for new hardware,it found Trio and installed it for me.The drivers were on the CD. dumdugie |
