45410 2002-04-24 08:58:00 Hi...my computer was recently affect by a computer virus.
Some of the virus affected the files in _RESTORE folder.
In order to delete these affected files, i must disable System Restore.
Now i'm wondering after i deleted the files and UNDISABLE system restore, what effects will it have on my computer??

Thanks
Tony

45411 2002-04-24 09:25:00 If you disable System Restore so that you can finish cleaning up the virus and then re-enable System Restore, there should be little noticeable difference. At some point System Restore will create a new restore point anyway or you can do it yourself after you have cleaned out the remains of the virus. Guest (0)

45413 2002-04-26 02:03:00 Hi tony, personally I don't use system restore....specially after using roxio's GoBack. did a far superior job and actually reverted my hard drive to exactly how it was not like the hit and miss affair that restore seems to do. Another alternative I now use also is the backup tool that is on your ME cd. browse the cd and you'll find it tucked away in a folder. I found restore interferred with defrag etc too much for my liking. Guest (0)
