45485 2002-04-24 23:24:00 I saved an Outlook Express folder to My Documents. It is saved as a .dbx file. When I attempt to open it Word is activated but the result is unreadable. How can I open the file in a readable form?

Any help would be graetfully received.

45486 2002-04-25 10:28:00 A .dbx file is an email folder.

It contains all the messages in that particular folder and as far as I know you can only open it in your email program.

If it is the only .dbx file on your computer you can direct Outlook Express to open it by going to Tools, Options, Maintenance and changing the Store Folder settings to the file's location.

If it is not the only .dbx file on your machine and you want to view the contents you will have to move it to where the other files are or vice versa.

Note that if it has the same name as another file then OE will want to overwrite it before it moves it to the same location. In that case you may be able to rename it first to prevent this.

Do a google search for a program called DBXtract. Downlaod and run that and then you can read all your dbx files as a word type document.

Cheers.
