45470 2002-04-24 21:39:00 I have found that when i have been using the internet (netscape6.2) and then go to shut down the computer, that occassionally it freezes, and the only way to turn it off, is by switching it off at the wall. I had the tower case checked out, and all is well. Has anyone else had similar experience? (i am also using windows XP). It was suggested that netscape may be the problem. Guest (0)
45471 2002-04-25 03:49:00 I experience the same and/or simliar problem occasionally when I want to shut down my families computer.

I don't know why it happens, in my case it can't be related to Netscape 6.2 because my computer runs Internet Explorer 5.5

Goodluck in resolving your problem! I will view this post again sometime soon incase there are any replies that help me to stop that happening to my computer.

45472 2002-04-25 07:39:00 Hi
I had the same problem when running and closing XP. The fact you were running netscape may have nothing to do with it as the computer has other programmes running in the back-ground. I upgraded to XP and my problem was drivers-2 of them. Mouse and USB port.
Check all drivers--Do a system save then remove programmes until problem goes--you can always do a restore.

Had the same problem a couple of weeks ago.

Visit Microsofts Knowledge Base for the answer. Its quite common.

Cheers.
