45766 2002-04-26 09:32:00 I am running XP and I somehow got a video file in my documents, that each time I click on it, it freezes the whole window forcing me to shut down and restart.I would love to delete this file. Thanks Dave Guest (0)
45767 2002-04-27 00:00:00 So delete it Dave. You don't need our permission. If you don't know how to delete a file, find the file in explorer, right click and select delete. If you don't know how to do that, read the help files in your computer.

If you can't find or use the help files, night school classes in computer basics would be a good idea. Either that or buy a pad & pencil.

Sometimes I wonder!

45769 2002-04-27 09:26:00 Wotza Problem:

I don't like to see smart-arses on here ridiculing people when they ask supposedly 'dumb' questions, particularly when they hide behind fictitious names.

If you are so clever yourself you would have read that Dave said:

'...each time I click on it, it freezes the whole window forcing me to shut down and restart'

In that case, no wonder he wasn't able to click on it to delete it. We don't know whether he had tried right-clicking on it, or even if he knew he might be able to right-click on it.

Who cares what he knew or didn't know, anyway? The whole point being that there is no need to make anyone, novices, intermediates or even experts, feel stupid about asking questions here.

This site is for helping people learn about their computers, not making them feel inadequate. Your second and third posts are evidence that you are capable of being nice and helpful, so let's see more of that and less of the smart-arse.

Otherwise go somewhere else, thanks.

45770 2002-04-28 03:20:00 Why the need to be so rude?
Wotza Problem.
Do you take lessons in bad manners. People ask questions (which is what this site is for) because they are unsure of using 'delete'. Not everyone has the confidence to try something with out a liitle help. Kindness costs nothing.
