45684 2002-04-26 00:03:00 So why is it that two RAM chips both 128 MB 133 MHz show up as only 192MB once installed Bank one reports 64MB and the other 128MB reversing them only has the oppersite effect??
TIA

45685 2002-04-26 09:18:00 If you look at the ram closely you will see that one stick has chips on both sides the other has chips on one side. The stick with chips on one side is referred to as double density.

It would appear that you motherbord can only handle 128megsticks. ie 64megs per side....Hence the reason why you your single sided 128meg only comes up as 64megs..

solution... go find a double side 128meg stick.

hope this helps
