2012-08-31 01:10:00 | Win XP Pro IE 8 My home page is Google but when I open a tab Babylon pops up as a search engine. I have deleted all references to Babylon in 'Add Remove Programs' in Control Panel I can't find any reference to Babylon in msconfig Start Up I have run CCleaner and Malwearbytes without finding any reference to Babylon I don't know if it's a good search engine but when it starts telling me I have won a prize I get suspicious. Any ideas on how to rid my computer of this? Thanks

2012-08-31 01:17:00 | Go to manage search engines in IE, and delete it. If its there. I take it, you uninstalled it, if it was in add/remove programs? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |

2012-08-31 01:59:00 | Ok I have found it in Manage Search Providers but the remove button under Babylon is greyed out. Will I have to find a registry fix?

2012-08-31 04:19:00 | Ok I have found it in Manage Search Providers but the remove button under Babylon is greyed out. Will I have to find a registry fix?Its greyed out because you uninstalled it with add/remove programs first. You have to change the default search engine first, then remove from the search providers/uninstall. Try making another search provider ( google) as default then it "may" allow you to remove Babylon. In IE you have two locations, Toolbars and Extensions,& search Providers, it has to be removed from both.

2012-09-01 02:53:00 | I eventually found a registry edit that stopped Babylon appearing but now how do I get google as the screen when I click on a tab? Currently a tab opens a screen saying 'What do you want to do next' with options
