| 1273251 | 2012-05-02 23:09:00 | The reviews are pretty good. Like the idea of being able to record to USB. Good price. :) I agree Trev, and I like the idea of being Akai - a quality brand with long history. |

| 1273252 | 2012-05-03 00:38:00 | Are the Akai's Freeveiw approved, only asking because of the EPG Only freeview approved receivers can use Freeviews episode guide (??) But in saying that, the EPG is so slow on my zinwell I just cant be bothered waiting for it to pop up. For some strange reason its also much much slower to pop up on some channels Is the EPG faster on newer machines ?? |

| 1273253 | 2012-05-03 01:06:00 | I have a Zinwell 620HD box. It doesn't take that long to bring up the EPG maybe 15 seconds. :) |

Maybee Im too old ?? too many coffee's ?, no time to spare :p Have you tied the EPG when in Ch7 or the other junk channels? EPG when in Ch7 sometimes doesnt show at all, I have to go ch6 ,hit EPG button, wait wait have a nap wait , then move the EPG to 7 Have you tried the 'unofficial' Zinwell firmware, to enable record to USB on it Trev ?? |

| 1273255 | 2012-05-03 02:56:00 | There are two different EPG's broadcast, a now/next one in a common format that all decoders seem to handle, and one that goes much further ahead and uses a new standard that is not well supported outside of New Zealand (MHEG or something like that). Hardware not specifically made for the NZ market quite likely won't support the full guide. On the other hand some channels, mainly 3&4, seem to broadcast several hours of EPG using the now/next guide. TiVo bypasses the whole issue by supplying the guide over an internet connection so it doesn't use the broadcast guides at all. PC's using TV tuner cards can't use the full guide by default either, although there are a few workarounds available. |

No the EPG comes up in all channels in less than 5 seconds. Was a bit slower on channel 7 but not that much. :) |

| 1273259 | 2012-05-03 08:54:00 | In the end I bought the Dish TV T1020. Main reason for that over the Akai was that the Akai only had one channel whilst the Dish TV would allow the user to watch one channel and record at least one other. Furthermore the epg on the akai was only up to a few hours, from what I have read, and if I really was going choose to forfeit that facility, then tivo would have taken the cake. Installed it tonight, downloaded the new firmware and goes like a charm. Thanks all for the useful insights and priceless advice.:) |

| 1273260 | 2012-05-03 18:45:00 | To anyone else looking at Freeview STB. The Latest consumer magazine has a roundup of STB's. Unfortunately they really screwed up the Ultraplus 9200 X review. It lost 10 points of 100 for power usage as they didn't enable the low power standby mode in the menus. They tested it as DTT unit, no mention was made that the tuners are user optional and can be mixed, e.g 2 DTT tuners or 2 satellite tuners, or 1 DTT and 1 satellite tuner. A very highend unit with Youtube, Web Browser, Internet tv and radio, Internet Stream support, series record and a whole load of other functions. If anyone is looking for a receiver that does it all , this is the one to have. |
