| 1297175 | 2012-08-27 10:15:00 | Up to you but Picasa will scan whatever folders you tell it to and display whatever size thumbnails you set it to do and keep up to date as well as allowing certain editing and captions etc. You might decide to use something else but Picasa will certainly do any job | Ofthesea (14129) | ||

| 1297177 | 2012-08-27 23:31:00 | Picasa is, sorta, doing what I wanted. Problem is I have a lot of multiple photos and I need an easier way of fining them, so I can delete the double ups. I loaded it up, before 8am and my system is so very, very slow now as it's going through it all. I told it just to look in my Photos folder, but it's still scanning all my drives. Over 650GB's, all up. Could take days.... Anyone else got any ideas? Thanks, Ian |

Clicking on the headers of the columns allows you to sort the files for easy selection. Another good program is Dup Detector v3.2 (freeware version) which is specifically for images. It is not quite as intuitive as Easy Duplicate Finder to get going but as it shows a comparison window with the duplicate images it makes it a bit more fail-safe if your files are the same except for different sizes, such as if you have resized them. |

| 1297180 | 2012-08-28 06:58:00 | Tried all the above, plus heaps with Google. None of them are doing what we want. I know now that we do, indeed, have heaps of double ups. Noticed some photos are in, upto, 7 different folders. Different Duplicate file programs tell me that, but we also need the icon, to show us as well. Don't know what to do now. Gona need a real good register cleaner, to clean all the deleted stuff out. I use C Cleaner and PowerTools Lite 2011. Ian :( |

Ian :( Where did you get stuck with the duplicate file finder?, select the duplicates from the menu and use delete. You can use filters for jpg bump mp3 etc.... The files should go to recycle bin anyway so you can always restore before checking and emptying recycle bin. |
