1297117 2012-08-26 23:01:00 Another thing that can cause the hang on the post screen, is the 100 mb partition (if it created it, on the setup screen), when you installed Windows 7. I found that out, the first time, I installed Win7 on this. It tries to boot from the 100 mb partition. In the end, I reformatted and made the partitions bigger (so setup couldn't create the 100 mb partition) Speedy Gonzales (78)

1297119 2012-08-27 07:00:00 OK you can highlight these entries in tools/startup / click on delete / or disable to remove / disable them so they dont run on startup. Then reboot. Is the main hdd / C the boot disk in the BIOS?

Yes HKCU:Run ISUSPM Acresso Corporation C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\Connect\11\ISUSPM.exe -scheduler

You can run this manually

Yes HKCU:Run WinFast Schedule Leadtek Research Inc. C:\Program Files\WinFast\WFDTV\WFWIZ.exe

Yes HKLM:Run ArcSoft Connection Service ArcSoft Inc. C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ArcSoft\Connection Service\Bin\ACDaemon.exe

Yes HKLM:Run ATICustomerCare Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. "C:\Program Files (x86)\ATI\ATICustomerCare\ATICustomerCare.exe"

Yes HKLM:Run IndexSearch Nuance Communications, Inc. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Nuance\PaperPort\IndexSearch.exe"

Yes HKLM:Run ISUSScheduler InstallShield Software Corporation "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\issch.exe" -start

Yes HKLM:Run Disc Detector Creative Technology Ltd. C:\Program Files (x86)\Creative\ShareDLL\CtNotify.exe

Yes HKLM:Run PaperPort PTD Nuance Communications, Inc. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Nuance\PaperPort\pptd40nt.exe"

Yes HKLM:Run PPort12reminder Nuance Communications, Inc. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Nuance\PaperPort\Ereg\Ereg.exe" -r "C:\ProgramData\ScanSoft\PaperPort\12\Config\Ereg\ Ereg.ini"

Yes HKLM:Run QuickTime Task Apple Inc. "C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTTask.exe" -atboottime

Yes HKLM:Run StartCCC Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. "C:\Program Files (x86)\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static\CLIStart.exe" MSRun

Yes HKLM:Run SunJavaUpdateSched Sun Microsystems, Inc. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Java\Java Update\jusched.exe"

I would remove AVP. Win7's firewall is good enough. Just install an AV program, like Microsoft's one

1297120 2012-08-27 07:07:00 Yes C is thew boot disk
I'll follow the above and try it..

1297121 2012-08-27 19:55:00 So is it any faster?? Maybe one of the other 2 hdds are failing?? And when you turn it on, its finding it hard to detect one of the other hdd's on the post screen. If it shows (on the post screen), that its detecting the hdd's does it stop on one of the other hdds??

Thats what it did, when I was testing a laptop hdd, on the desktop here. To test if the other hdds are causing it, unplug them for now. And see if it hangs on the post screen. If it does, then plug the other 2 hdds in again (separately / one at a time). This will tell you, which one is causing it

1297122 2012-08-28 06:38:00 If you can get as far as Device Manager during a normal boot you might also find some alert icons on the bothersome hardware... but you might battle to get that far.

Fully endorse the earlier recommendations - remove all other drives and USB hardware that you can temporarily do away with, disconnect your network cable(s), printers and other peripherals, remove discs from CD/DVD/Blueray drives and try to reboot.

You could also chance deleting the contents of your prefetch folder, although this may lengthen your startup times further if the problem lies elsewhere.

How much free space is on C drive?

1297123 2012-08-28 08:00:00 Another thing you can try, if all drives are connected, turn the computer on. Go into the BIOS. If one / or more are failing the BIOS wont detect it. And it wont appear in the BIOS.

The laptop hdd that was failing here, 9 times out of ten, the BIOS couldnt see it. So, you couldnt change the hdd to the boot disk. And, obviously it wouldn't / couldn't boot into windows
