1273065 2012-05-01 03:12:00 Just come to Telecom ;)

Last time I looked at migrating to somebody like slingshot (a few years ago now), I was told I could only migrate via Telecom and that involved a charge of around $100 to initiate the process.

1273066 2012-05-01 03:14:00 I don't know as I've never migrated. I thought charges only applied if you were still on a term contract. However, if you were migrating to Telecom rather than through Telecom there would probably not be an issue. Agent_24 (57)
1273067 2012-05-01 03:17:00 "$199 early termination charge applies"
"After 12 months standard pricing applies"

These are significant got-ya clauses.
The guy who was going door to door on the weekend trying to sign homes up to Telstra never mentioned termination
charges or the special pricing deal may only be for 12 months.
To save $15 a month it didnt seem worth the hassle , better the devil you know .

Thanks Agent - I'll bear that in mind 12 months from now

Hi 1101 - yeah - I was aware of the termination and 12 month hooks - but does it say that on the TV ad?

1273070 2012-05-01 05:25:00 Thanks LWLady - the issues here are a) what does it actually say on the TV ad and b) whether what is printed there is actually capable of being read under normal TV viewing conditions. As I said, my TV's what ever the opposite to $*!^hot is so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt until somebody with $*!^hot gear tells me that it is nigh on impossible to read

I will try to take note if I see the ad again. I have new glasses, so it would be a good test for them!

1273072 2012-05-01 05:58:00 $105 at Telecom gets you 60GB a month (soon to be 120GB).

$110 or around about that get's you unlimited (no data cap at all!) at TrustPower Kinect, at least it did when we got it. They don't advertise it on their site anymore. I'm still waiting to see if any other provider can beat that. Were prolly lucky though as we've got our power with them, so they gave us like $10 discount. I know we pay between $100 to $110 for our internet, which sounds really expensive, but for us, it was a godsend, and we would never go back to telstraclear.

1273073 2012-05-01 08:31:00 Just seen the ad again!

Ok, all I could see was the text that was exactly the same as what I posted and was the same as what is on the website.

Thanks for that LL. Now, could you read the small print whilst you were reclined as normal on your lazy boy (or equivalent), or did you have to get up close to the screen (with or without your new glasses)?
