1273508 2012-05-04 07:10:00 I'm looking at purchasing a domain(.com or .co.nz). I'm after a company that will provide one page for free (like godaddy). I need to be able to edit the html of that one page though. I've used godaddy before but they would only let me use some cheap free site builder interface which didn't please me. If not I guess I'll use domains4less which as like 6 months free hosting. Don't really want to be paying $7+/month to keep one page on the internet though. icow (15313)

Why not just point the domain at wordpress.com and use them for the website, then use GApps for your mail etc?

Interestingly D4L mail only plans technically have the ability to upload a very small page. It doesn't provide FTP details, but in the CP they are there if you know where to look........

1273514 2012-05-06 08:29:00 I have 4 websites with "Hosting Direct". You can buy a Domain through them. You get free hosting with one Mail box, but without PHP support. If you need PHP support and multiple Mail boxes they charge $5 a month for hosting. You have full FTP support, so you have complete control and can use any editor or program you want. Help support is excellent. mzee (3324)
1273515 2012-05-06 09:20:00 You can host for free on the little known Google App Engine, (accounts.google.com) up to 1 GB bandwith per day. Need to install their script, python, and a html web file. Details here, (www.labnol.org) of which shows a example for the UK royal family website. Plus I think can use/test web apps at Google Developers. (developers.google.com) Also Google apps to use as well.

Also of course can use Wordpress, Google Sites or a simple Blogger (accounts.google.com) platform. Google now redirect to country regions for blogspot domains, i.e. yourpage.blogspot.co.nz.
