1273055 2012-05-01 00:43:00 Hi

I'm having a bit of an argy bargy with Telstra Clear and the TV ad for the all in one $75 package. Basically I'm taking the view that the TV ad says one thing (Sign up and get a free modem plus the first two months free) and that the terms and conditions notice (in small writing at the bottom of the TV ad) actually mean something else. (I'm not going to say too much at this stage 'cos I want to see what your reaction is).

Now, I'm the first to admit that my TV is an old 21" CRT dunga, but there's no way I can see what that bit at the bottom says so at the moment I can't take them to task about it.

So, basically, is there anybody out there with a wall to ceiling mega HD surround sound all the bells and whistles plasma warpspeed TV set that can actually read that small **** and tell me what is says - even better post a screen shot.

From where I'm standing at the moment it's a bit of misleading (bait) advertising!

Thanks

1273056 2012-05-01 01:16:00 Perhaps it says the following. It is on the website.

Offer available to new customers in HomePlan areas only. Offer extended until 30 June 2012 or while stocks last. Not available in areas serviced by TelstraClear’s cable network. Broadband not available in all areas. Additional usage and other charges may apply. $199 early termination charge applies. After 12 months standard pricing applies. TelstraClear Terms and Conditions apply.

1273061 2012-05-01 02:25:00 are you referring to the 40 gig a month which you get free for the first 12 months, then pay for?

$30 p/m = $105 a month after the first twelve

$105 at Telecom gets you 60GB a month (soon to be 120GB).

Thanks LWLady - the issues here are a) what does it actually say on the TV ad and b) whether what is printed there is actually capable of being read under normal TV viewing conditions. As I said, my TV's what ever the opposite to $*!^hot is so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt until somebody with $*!^hot gear tells me that it is nigh on impossible to read

They told me I could go back to my previous plan (or something like it) with no trouble at all! I certainly can't afford to pay for what the $75 plan becomes - it's just that being on it for 12 months works out cheaper than what I was paying all up previously
