46050 2002-04-28 06:12:00 I'm thinking about getting this as a replacement to jetstart (a speed issue, nothing more). I have a couple of concerns:

They say the service is 'burstable' to 256k - does this mean it will slow down considerably during peak hours?

Secondly, is there much packet loss? After all, it is a wireless technology, and I'm primarily going to use the connection for IRC file transfers.

If anyone here has Tempest, could you please tell me what sort of speed and reliability you get from it, and whether or not you would recommend it? Thanks

46051 2002-04-28 06:25:00 The last I heard, Tempest was 256Kbps unlimited. Was a form ADSL like JetStart or JetStream. But it was only for business customers.

46052 2002-04-28 06:33:00 Yes it's supposed to be for business customers, however I've been offered a deal ;)

I just need some feedback on its speed (realistic speed, not hypothetical, in kilobytes), and if it's worth the money :)
