46036 2002-04-28 05:58:00 If linux is suppose to be free where can someone get a copy of it? Guest (0)
46037 2002-04-28 06:04:00 http://www.copyleft.co.nz

He charges so much per disk but is very efficient. There are numerous sites on the web if you want to download it but you will need a cdBurner to copy the download to cd.

46038 2002-04-28 06:08:00 Hi Roofus

Go to Google & enter linux + download and take a quick shufti through the results. You should find a download site pretty quickly.

If you want it on CD however, you will have to pay for it because somebody else invested time & money in preparing the compilation. You are not paying for the Linux software code, you are paying for the delivery mechanism and support offered.

Cheers

46039 2002-04-28 07:02:00 The ISO formats of any Linux distribution do not have to be burnt onto CD. There are programs that you can use to read these files so you do not have to download the individual files.

You'll need to read more on this method though as I am not familiar with it but my mate did it this way. I'll try and find out more on what he did.
