| 46033 | 2002-04-28 05:50:00 | hi i bought a Godfather video CD and tried to watch it but it dosnt work. I open the CD drive and found out it had a .dat extention (watever that is..) I tried to open it with windows media but it wont work. Do i need to download a special player to watch it? thnx |

| 46034 | 2002-04-28 23:13:00 | Hi David I don't know much about video CDs but your post was looking a bit lonely there with no answers so I thought I'd give it a go. Firstly, what is a Godfather video CD? If it is a feature film, it will probably be on DVD which you can only play on a DVD player. It can't be read by CD. However, since you were able to look at it on a CD to see a dat file extension I guess it must be a game on cd format. Is it a shop bought disk or is it pirated? If shop bought, the information card in the jewel case should tell you what type of equipment and specs you need to play it. If your system meets thiose requirements and it won't play, go back to the shop for assistance, a replacement disk or a refund. If pirated, there is probably file or two missing or corrupted but that's the risk you take. Good luck on getting advice, warranty or money back from a pirate, though I guess you could get lucky. | 46035 | 2002-04-29 02:03:00 | to watch the film you need to open the avi or mpeg file. Since you can't find it try this. go to find. click on lookin and change it to CD-ROM. Then in the named section, type *.avi then press enter. if that doesn't get any results type *.mpeg or *.mpg if you still get no results then I'm sorry to say you don't have the file on the CD. |
