| 45958 | 2002-04-28 01:03:00 | I just wondered why it took soo long to look at files in my temporary internet files directory. Guess what? I have 19,556 files in there. I don't think I need that many. It must be making FAT32 struggle. It is nothing short of ridiculous. Wiping the lot it tempting. Like to hear how bad others have theirs, and also like to hear any suggestions for purging it. robo. |

| 45959 | 2002-04-28 01:22:00 | 19000+, that would make interesting viewing.... On this computer in that folder currently running about 1840 files for 18mb in size. We use Window Washer which does a good job of cleaning out the temp/ temp internet/cookies, etc. Og course you could also just delete the whole lot manually. Another one we tried which might be more effective than Window Washer was Xen I think it was called. Posted a while back by Graham Petrie? I saw a computer couple of days ago that was slow as, removed 160,000 but that included cookies, temp and temp internet. |

Ive set the folder size in Tools at 10MB, and its regularly purged anyway, together with the index.dat files. It's no great hardship for web pages to have to re-load. To be really lean you can opt to empty the temp internet files folder when you close the browser from Internet Options-Advanced! |
