| 46139 | 2002-04-28 21:54:00 | Word 2000 stops working.. on 2 different machines miles apart... Common features.. Windows Me, Works suite 2000 and word 2000. Symptom.. Click on the word icon..The program appears to start loading.. then freezes. The data is still intact and can be accessed/copied. uninstalling/reinstalling word does not fix the problem. Total format and restore.. then reload data.. does work.. Help please.. Mike.. 8-) |

| 46142 | 2002-04-29 07:35:00 | Hello Mike, The problem you are having is usually caused by a corrupt normal.dot file. This is the default template word loads everytime it starts, if it becomes corrupted word will not load. To fix just run a search for normal.dot and delete any files found, reboot your PC, word will recreate a new normal.dot and everything should be back to normal. Alan |
