| 46326 | 2002-04-29 10:59:00 | The same error message plus an invitation to send an error report to Microsoft has been happening to me also recently from time to time. Running IE5.5 SP2 +security updates, it seems to have started since the last security upgrades in March, the same upgrades that caused the shortcut arrows to be fixed and TweakUI not to work properly. Haven't pinned down the cause yet, it's been too infrequent, but just a feeling it's happened when I've had 2 instances of IE open at the same time, one browsing, one listening to streaming audio. |

| 46329 | 2002-04-30 04:00:00 | Hi Terry - Just to prove that I'm not an evil capitalist swine - :-) (ref: my earlier posts about advertising on this site) Here is something that might help you with this problem. I recently experienced a similar problem on a PC which turned out to be corrupt cache. The problem was odd in that it appeared to affect certain sites only - for instance every time the browser went to the Clear Net site or the Macromedia site it would crash. I eventually fixed it by deleting the index.dat file that IE uses to store cache information. However doing this is a bit of a fiddle, because windows grabs hold of this file when it launches, which means that it won't let you delete it from within windows. My solution was to reboot in Dos mode and use the deltree command to nuke the file. But I believe there are also utilities available on the net free for download which will do this for you. Try searching for 'remove ie cache' on Google. Regards, Mark Evans Business Manager Online IDG Communications Ltd |
