| 46157 | 2002-04-28 23:37:00 | I am looking for a method to schedule changes to the windows volume control settings, is there an easy way to do this?? What I am after is a way to mute and un-mute various volume controls in the windows volume control at set times during the day. The computer I am wanting to do it to is running a radio station broadcast taking inputs from two satellite recivers, currently one is plugged into the microphone socket, and the other into the line in socket on my sound card. At 8 am in the morning I want to mute the microphone and un-mute the line in, and at 7pm at night, I want to do the reverse, and put it back onto reciever 1. Is there a piece of software or a windows app I can do this with, and if possible change all the mute controls as I am looking to add in a cd-player or two in the next few weeks. Cheers, Craig. |

Although I have no solutions to automatic switching of inputs, I am intrigued at your idea of using the Win Vol control mixer to feed your broadcast. I can understand that lack of inputs could be a problem, leading you to use the mic input. I wondered if your receivers & broadcast are a stereo arrangement, because the mic input is not. In fact there are very different wiring connections for the stereo mini plugs used for connecting to the soundcard line and mic sockets. I guess you may well be aware of this, but if not, post back for information. |

(these are all stereo) I can currently run everything I need through these inputs, they all work at full volume levels and can be balanced manually to all output at the same levels. However, what I am after is a controller of some kind that can mute and un-mute all these controls, while leaving the volume levels as they are set, at specific times of the day. I currently have an app that i downloaded that will change the line-in 2 mute only, but I really need the others as well. Is there a built-in windows function that allows the muting and un-muting via command-line (via batch files) or something else I can control with a scheduler of some kind? Cheers, Craig. |
