46489 2002-04-30 08:43:00 My emails are intermittantly dissapearing on downloading.

I Use Zone Alarm, Norton 2000 Professional [updated automatically] and and have installed Outlook 2000 SR-1 Email Security Update

Lately, when I initiate a send/receive of email the dialogue box will state, 'downloading xxx [say 9] emails'. However, when I check the Inbox, there may not be the indicated number of emails [ 9 in the above case] I am sure that I dont have any hidden folders where they are dissapearing into and I have checked at my service provider to see if any emails 'hang' there.

I notice that the Inbox [if open] appears to momentarily flash, as if the missing emails are being received and then they vanish.

I do use an email rules wizard which automatically redirects junk/specified email into a folder styled 'Junk Email' At around the same time the above issue appeared, it looks like no more junk email is being redirected to the junk folder - of course I may just not have received any either!

Any ideas and comments welcome

46491 2002-04-30 11:41:00 Are you sure you do not have a mail rule set to delete specific email.
Have you Got Norton set to scan incoming mail, it might be deleting it from the server without downloading it.

The other thing to check is Select View/Current view
Make sure you have view all messages selected and view by conversation is not selected.

Alternatively, go to Tools, message rules and see if anything is set to Delete.
