Electronic Arts has announced that SimCity 4 is in development at Maxis Studios. SimCity 4 features new simulation and graphics engines, new regional game play and the new ability to track the lives of individual Sims as they go about their daily routine. SimCity 4 will make its debut at the Electronic Entertainment Exposition in Los Angeles (E3). Adobe has a law suit against Macromedia alleging that the user interface of Macromedia's Flash Web animation tool infringes on Adobe's patent for tabbed palettes, a feature that allows users of design software to rearrange the work space on the PC screen. Macromedia of course responded with a countersuit saying that Adobe's Photoshop image-editing software and its GoLive Web design software infringe on 2 patents that Macromedia holds for editing tools.
