| 46464 | 2002-04-30 05:43:00 | I am using Photo Impression 2000 software as supplied with the camera which worked great until I upgraded to XP which won't recognise the Camera. Has anybody had any luck with other software, Polaroids reply is the Camera was made for 98, ME, and 2000 and they have no upgrade for for an XP driver Which leaves me with ME or no Camera. | Guest (0) | ||

'With some minor modifications, you should be able use your PDC 640 camera with a computer running Windows XP. The updated twain driver for the camera is compatible with Windows XP and can be downloaded from Polaroid's Download Software page (skip to STEP 2 below). The driver allows you to use the camera with any XP-compliant acquisition and imaging software. However, if you want to use PhotoMAX software to download and manipulate images, you must reinstall it using XP's Program Compatibility Wizard. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STEP 1 -- Install the PhotoMAX software using the Compatibility Wizard Start the Wizard by clicking the Start button and choosing All Programs > Accessories > Program Compatibility Wizard. Follow the on-screen prompts. Select I want to use the program in the CD-ROM Drive. Insert the PhotoMAX software CD-ROM into the CD drive. Click Next. Select Microsoft Windows 98/Windows Me and click Next. Uncheck the following items: 256 colors 640 X 480 Screen Resolution Disable Visual Themes Follow the on-screen prompts. The PhotoMAX software will begin installing. When prompted to select the type of installation, select Custom and click Next. ' |
