46588	2002-05-01 02:34:00	Does anyone know of an application that logs what changes were made to the registry during an install? I have just downloaded two trial versions of Borlands products which are notorious for installing large numbers of reg-keys which usually don't get deleted on an uninstall. I would like an app that can track changes to the registry and if possible, revers those changes. I'm using winXP but i don't want to use the inbuilt rollback feature. Any suggestions? Regards, Mark. 46590	2002-05-01 06:06:00	Another thought.. not sure about XP though. In Win98 using regedit.exe, you can export the entire registry to a text .reg file, say call it before.reg. After installing a program, export the registry again, calling it after.reg Then use a text file comparison program to highlight the differences. If you uninstall the program another exported registry file comparison could tell you if anything has been left behind. The .reg files can be imported back if need be, it's one way of backing up and restoring the registry. Some comparison programs will print the differences, others just show highlighted differences in side by side panes. There is a free program called FreeDiff from: <www.saltybrine.com	Guest (0)
