| 46527 | 2002-05-01 01:10:00 | Aha! Lop! I had that bugger. Removing all entries from registry, telling explorer ro reset all search pages, fixed all but the stupid startup app. I finally worked out how it worked. It is a flash animation on your active desktop. Disabling active desktop is a bit extreme, but you can remove the desktop setting from your diplay settings which removes the little bugger. It thankfullly saves a copy of your previous settings. But, since adaware has caught up, I suppose it doesn't matter. G P |

| 46528 | 2002-05-01 04:12:00 | Pardon my ignorance, but do Adaware upgrades install over the top of the existing version or do you uninstall first, then install the upgrade. I've never updated you see, as my somewhat orthodox surfing paths generally seem to keep me clear of most of the nuisance stuff. The wildest site I visit is Press F1! Nevertheless, I am sure I must have copped some spyware that my present version can't see so it's time to refresh the armoury. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 46529 | 2002-05-01 04:20:00 | It'll install straight over top if you choose the upgrade option. At least thats what I did when I upgraded to vers 7.2 I also suggest you grab the ref update program as well.....this little beauty makes it very easy to update your adaware definitions and keep killing the latest spyware. | Guest (0) | ||
| 46530 | 2002-05-01 04:32:00 | Billy, AdAware cleans out the spyware from downloaded programs that you may have got without realising they had spyware in them. The Lop thing is from browsing though. If you've never updated yours then they recommend that you do uninstall first before install the newer version. After that just install the reference files, which are sort of like anti-virus updates - you just add them on. You can read more on their FAQ page: 63.217.29.135 Scroll about halfway down. I have certified it clear of bubnch's. ;-) |
