46788 2002-05-02 09:15:00 Hi, I have a P2 233 with 230M of ram, Win 98, and a 20G hard drive, and untill recently I also had 4.3G hard drive, which naturally was unused, so I decided to remove it . However I now find that I have a drive letter as D (unused) which was the old 4.3G drive with E as the cdrw and F as the cdrom, how can I get the CD drives to shift up one so that the cdrw then becomes D and etc?
I used seagate's disk wizard to initially set up the system with 2 hard drives. Any Ideas?
Cheers.
Richard.

Select the CD and click properties. Click the settings tab, and put the drive letter you want in both of the reserved drive letter boxes, and OK your way out. Repeat for the CDR.

46790 2002-05-02 09:41:00 To make a drive have the letter you want, right-click My Computer, and choose properties. Find your CD/CD-RW drive in the list, and choose properties on it. Click the settings tab. In the section 'Reserved drive letters', set both the Start drive letter and End drive letter to the one you want, ie D or E. This will change the drive letter for that drive.
