46897 2002-05-03 04:23:00 A celeron will 'on average' give around 80% of the performance of a P3. Different benchmarks will give different results depending on the type of demands they put on the cpu. Guest (0)
46898 2002-05-03 08:16:00 I thought a Celeron was just a PII with a different name, or am I wrong?

46900 2002-05-03 11:23:00 as far as comparing to p3 it depends on what you are doing, eg gaming, graphics or just plain net.

at least gaming wise its comparable(roughly speaking) to around a p3600~ . in more basic apps you won't see much of a drop.

celerons have always been cutdown ver of p2 or p3's.

46901 2002-05-03 20:45:00 Visions of little men cutting pieces off silicon with little hacksaws, straining their eyes.

Not sure I have ever forgiven Intel since my illusions were shattered with the actual differences between different versions of the 386sx.

It's no wonder that we have overclockers out there.
