| 47003 | 2002-05-03 21:20:00 | NAV picked up and deleted a email with the copies.bat virus. Unable to find any information on this on th Net, NAV does not hold info on it in its Virus list. Thanks for your assistance. John W |

| 47004 | 2002-05-04 00:16:00 | Hi John Copies.bat is a fairly common DOS batch file. It depends on who the sender was, but it probably isn't a virus at all. If your AV program is set to reject executable files attached to emails (which it should be if you want adequate protection) it would have stopped this one on principle. If the sender was known to you and the email is still on your system you can open Copies.Bat in Notepad and see what it is supposed to do if executed. If it is a virus or has a hidden extension your AV program should pick it up when you try to open it. That is, provided you have set up NAV to check files on opening of course. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
