| 46914 | 2002-05-03 03:46:00 | Have PC Company computer. 500MHz, 128RAM, 13GB hard Drive. Windows 98 OS. Wife using computer learning basic word processing and Wordpad ceased to function. This program has performed illegal operation etc. Details - Wordpad caused an invalid page fault in module MFC42.DLL at 017:5f40d84d. Registers: etc Bytes at CS:EIP: etc Stack dump: etc Tried reinstallation of Windows 98 without effect. Tried reinsertion of DLL file by method described in PC World recently wihout effect. Can you help? |

| 46915 | 2002-05-03 04:37:00 | Have a look at: support.microsoft.com If that doesn't help, the problem can be caused by an incorrect version of mfc42.dll. Have you installed any programs around the time the problem with wordpad started? If so, the installed program may have overwritten the mfc42.dll and it may be necessary to extract an 'origional' copy from your Windows CD. |
