| 46908 | 2002-05-03 00:19:00 | I have worked out how to backup emails in Outlook Express - that is by copying the dbx files in the C:\Windows\application data etc folder. But I can't see how to restore the backup to Outlook Express. If you double click on a dbx file, the computer opens Outlook Express but not with the emails in the back up dbx file. Got any ideas? Follow the steps and be sure to browse to your backup at the 'location of messages' part. (FYI: Have used this successfully many times although once had trouble when importing from OE4 to OE6 - this I resolved by upgrading OE4 to version 6 before importing.) Dan |

I have tried using the Import messages option in Outlook Express but when I get to the end of the process I get an error message saying 'The specified message store could not be opened. It may be in use by Outlook Express.' Any more ideas? David C |
