47109 2002-05-04 10:09:00 Under Windows XP a Shared Documents folder is automatically created and shared across all users.
By default this is located in X:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents.
I wish to move this to a different partition on the same disk (G:).
Can this be done easily. Has anyone done this?

47110 2002-05-04 20:58:00 Yes, Paul, moving the location of My Documents is very easy to do.

Right-click on the My Documents shortcut on the desktop. Click on Properties. Alter the target location fron the default to whatever you want. If the people who share your computer with you all share the same documents, I suggest that you simplify the target to; G:\My Documents. When you have made the change, windows usually asks you if you want all the contents of My Documents shifted to the new location.

Paul, it threw me a bit when you stated that the default location for your documents was X:\Doc...etc. I notice that on the keyboard X & C are ajacent to each other. Did you not mean C:\Doc...etc?

47111 2002-05-04 22:26:00 Thanks Paul. Perhaps I should have included more detail.
I was previously running Windows ME on a 4GB drive (C:). I installed Windows XP on a new 40GB drive with a 10GB system partition (F:) and a 30GB data partition (G:).
I decided to keep the 'Windows ME / C: drive' combination so that I could run both operating systems.
I have already relocated 'My Documents' for the two users on Windows XP to the G: drive and redirected using right-click|properties.
However, the 'Shared Documents' folder accessible by all users is stored at 'F:\Documents and Settings\All Users' and right-click|properties does not provide any option to change location.
Can you help?
