| 47015 | 2002-05-04 00:43:00 | The following is the text from tc carr's email earlier today. Press F1 was doing its 'blank stare' trick so I have dug out the message from the 'by date' files & reposted it in case anyone can help him/her. Cheers Billy 8-{) I have had Norton Antivirus Version 7.07 enabled to scan email arriving in my Outlook 2000 m/box before opening. At least until yesterday. Since then no mail has arrived or left N A-V is blocking it. The error message is (unable to connect to server .. Pop3.Norton.Antivirus. Error No. 0x800ccc0e) Xtra helpdesk helped me get and send mail, by SWITCHING OFF virus protection & altering incoming mail a/d back to pop3.xtra.co.nz from pop3.Norton.Antivirus. The Norton website is an asinine loop that never leads to 'contact us'. Any helpful suggestions appreciated. Seems to me i cd continue to receive unchecked mail, then individually scan attachments, but that sort of defeats the object of the exercise. If anyone representinig NORTON/SYMANTEC reads this, how about a response - redeem my faith in what seems to be an unhelpful attitude to svce. All this runs on Windows 98 |

| 47017 | 2002-05-04 11:30:00 | the nortons email protect(poproxy) is known to play up a bit. advice from symantecs web site is to disable it. the autoscan will still protect plus the manual scans you always do<hint hint>. | Guest (0) | ||
