| 47177 | 2002-05-05 01:48:00 | hi well i have just done a clean install of 98se and most of it went well but every now and then when i shut down or restart it comes up with this [ fatal exception OE has occurred at 0187:BFF8CC32 ] what is going wrong and how do i fix it? |

| 47178 | 2002-05-05 05:02:00 | Try this: (It works for me) :-) Write a batch file in Notepad and SAVE it to your desktop AS 'Shutdown.bat' or some such similar name. The text will be: 'C:\windows\rundll32.exe user.exe,ExitWindows'. HIH. |

| 47179 | 2002-05-05 06:00:00 | Hi Steve, I am not quite sure if this applies to your case but I know that numerous problems have been reported under Windows 98 when using the fast shutdown feature. Fast shutdown can by disabled by selecting Start, Run, typing Msconfig and pressing enter. Then select the Advanced button and check disable fast shutdown. If problems still continue to occur then you could try installing the Windows 98 shutdown supplement. This can be downloaded from www.microsoft.com contents/wurecommended/s_wufeatured/win98se/ |
